Welcome to the Islamic Center of Harrisburg, located in Harrisburg, North Carolina. Harrisburg is a town in Cabarrus county, a northeastern suburb of Charlotte. Harrisburg is known for good schools and low taxes which makes it a lucrative town for many families to move here.

ICH was established as a non-profit religious organization with the will and permission of Allah SWT in February 2019 to serve the Muslims of Harrisburg and surrounding areas. It is centrally and conveniently located to most Muslim residents of Harrisburg and East Charlotte within 10 minutes of driving distance to most Muslim residents of Harrisburg. Many Muslims could walk to ICH within minutes.

ICH has a total of 12.5 acres of land. It has a structure which is used for prayers. Over 11 acres of the property is wooded which offers a great potential for the Muslims of Harrisburg and surrounding areas to cater to their future needs with the will and permission of Allah SWT.

Mission and Vision

The mission of ICH is to seek the pleasure of ALLAH (SWT) by obeying HIS commands; enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong according to Qur'an and Sunnah and to build a united community through good manners and taking care of each other.

Development of ICH

It will broadly be a two phased approach In Sha Allah:

​

Phase I: To completely pay-off the outstanding balance of the property

 

Phase 2: Develop the wooded property. This phase would be further subdivided into multiple phases InShaAllah and prioritized depending on the need of the Muslim community and the availability of funds.

  1. Build the structure for the masjid 

  2. Build the gymnasium

  3. Muslim cemetery

  4. Develop Soccer and/or Cricket fields

  5. Basketball and/or Volleyball court

  6. Walking trail around the property for fitness purposes

  7. Community Garden/Green house

Services

ICH currently offers the following services:

  • Five Daily Prayers

  • Friday Prayer

  • Taraweeh during Ramadan

  • Qur’an classes for children [Paused currently due to COVID]

Financial Status

The property of ICH was purchased for $375,000. As of the beginning of Ramadan 2021, we have an outstanding balance of $280,000 to completely pay off the property of ICH. We request you to contribute generously to pay off the outstanding balance of ICH and thereby facilitate in building the house of Allah SWT.

 

Donations to build the house of Allah SWT is a continuous charity.

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says in the Qur’an

​

Those who spend their wealth in charity day and night, secretly and openly—their reward is with their Lord, and there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve (Surah Baqarah, Verse 274)

​

And donate from what We have provided for you before death comes to one of you, and you cry, “My Lord! If only You delayed me for a short while, I would give in charity and be one of the righteous.” (Surah Munafiqun, Verse 10)

 

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said

Do not show lethargy or negligence in giving alms and charity till your last breath. (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)

 

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (At-Tirmidhi)

 

Narrated from Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Ibn Majah - 738)

Takbeerat will start at 8:30AM and EID Salat will start InShaAllah at 9:30AM

Please bring your own prayer carpet. There will be $10 fee per family for the parking.

Please pay Zakat Ul Fitr  ($10 per person) before the Salah, if not already paid.

Ramadan 2022 Update

This Ramadan of 2022 is our fourth Ramadan at ICH Alhamdulilah. We are blessed to have a very learned scholar (Sheikh. Abdulrahman Khan) at ICH during this Ramadan who would enlighten us through his talks during Taraweeh on Thursdays and Sundays.

We will complete the recitation of whole Qur’an during Taraweeh prayers. We will pray 20 raka’ats of Taraweeh each night of Ramadan InShaAllah which will be led by

We are blessed to have Sheikh. Abdulrahman Khan give a brief talk on Thursday and Sunday nights of Ramadan, after 8 raka’ats of Taraweeh.

​

We welcome you and invite you to ICH and join us for daily prayers, Friday and Taraweeh prayers. Let’s utilize this Ramadan to get to know each other, develop brotherhood and build a good loving united community to please our Lord the almighty and thereby attain the highest place in Paradise after we depart this temporary world (Ameen).
